Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs Programme supports STARTup Live Athens
Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs is an exchange programme initiated by the European Commission in 2009 as an innovative response to the dual challenge, namely to stimulate entrepreneurs and encourage cross border trade in EU and to provide the opportunity to entrepreneurs who intend to start a business or have recently started their business to learn from experienced entrepreneurs of small businesses in other European Union countries.
The exchange of experience takes place during a stay with the host entrepreneur, which helps the new entrepreneur acquire the skills he/she needs to run a small firm. The host benefits from fresh perspectives on his/her business and has the opportunity to cooperate with foreign partners or learn about new markets.
The Support Office of the Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs programme was a communication sponsor of the STARTup Live event which tool place in for the first time between the 4th -6th of November 2011 at the Hellenic American Union. STARTup Live Athens brought together people from different backgrounds to present and develop innovative ideas and create a dynamic network of people interested in entrepreneurship. Participants could come with their own business idea in an early stage, or in a supporting role aiming to join others to develop business ideas to a level, where they can be presented to investors.
The Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs Programme was presented by Ms Vassiliki Savvopoulou (programme administrator) during the last day of the event to more than 180 participants in total including prospective entrepreneurs with as well as to the mentors of the Start Up Live event. The Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs programme is a tool in the hands not only to prospective entrepreneurs but to more experienced entrepreneurs involved in any sector of activity.
